It’s been far, far too long since I’ve written but I want to catch all of you up with how life is for my favorite little girl.
The family just spent 4 days in Orlando, FL going to the theme parks and traveling about town while Mom and Dad (mostly Dad) got lost. I can’t say that she had a lot of fun because she can’t talk yet but there were tons of smiles and even more friends made. More than anything, it was Sarah just looking and taking it all in. There were sooo many new sights, sounds and activities that I think a lot of it was more than anything, overwhelming.
We got into town on Thursday morning and after getting our room and getting rid of our stuff, we went over to Sea World for a few hours. We saw the Clyde and Seymour show, saw a bunch of sharks and piggins (penguins) and many, many other sea creatures. The funkiest to Dad was the Sea Dragons, some insane looking Sea Horse thing that looked like it has seaweed as part of it’s body. Very funky but very cool. Mom of course has a (sick) fondness for penguins so I guess that was her favorite.
Friday was a very cool day. In the morning, it was a wash with Mom and Dad doing their things but more importantly, the night was the best part. In the evening we got dressed up in our oh so cute Bee costume and went over to Disney’s Magic Kingdom for their “Not Sooo Spooky Halloween Party”. We saw Rafiki from Lion King (we were a little afraid of him), we rode the Pooh ride, It’s a Small World ride, Space Mountain…ok, we didn’t ride Space Mountain, just kidding, We got pictures in front of Cinderella’s chariot, went on the Haunted Mansion ride, got rained on and trick or treated around the park. We had a lot of fun. We barely made it to the car before we fell asleep we did so much. One last thing, make sure you check out the pictures to see how cute she is in her costume. I can not, and I really mean it, can not, tell you how many times people would comment about her in her costume and how cute she looked. If I had to guess a number, I would say 4 billion times. Ok, more like 50-100 or something crazy like that. She is just that damn adorable. And that damn cute in a little bee outfit. Click here to see them.
Oh, and we rode the monorail. How cool is a monorail? As Lyle Lanley would say…Monorail…monorail…monorail…
On Saturday we ventured over to Aquatica (Sea World’s water park). We did good there. We walked through some of the shallower areas of the pools and splashed around, watched Dad go down a big slide, went down a big, big slide ourselves (it was about 2 ft tall but big for little girls like us) walked around a while. Oh, and we slipped out of Dad’s hands and nearly drowned but Mom saved our lives. Like always.
Sunday was our get out of town day. But you can’t get out of town without going to a theme park one last time soooo….we checked out of the room at 11, went over to Sea World for a few more hours to kill and had a real fun time. We saw Shamu and all his whale friends, saw the dolphin, whale and bird show and made TONS of friends there too.
So at the end of the day, we boarded a plane bound for home. Our return flight was in first class so we rode in style! Big seats, very comfy and Dad had several free beers. It’s good to be up there! After a little while on the plane we fell deep asleep and looked so peaceful. Just like any kid should after several days in Orlando.
