Oh boy has it been cold here in the area this winter. Today is supposed to be the coldest day in the past 4 years and I can tell you it is crappy out there. Bitter, bitter cold. But we’re getting along fine at home. Heater is working so how can you complain?

Sarah is an awesome kid like always. She’s been trying to walk a little bit but man, she is the most cautious kid you could meet. She wants to take those steps but if she feels it’s too far and has to take a step, she’ll drop down to her butt and crawl over. She’s taken a couple small steps but just isn’t ready. I’m told I should savor these days where they are much slower (because all she can do is crawl) but I see her wanting to do it and I feel for her. We’ll get there…

Since Christmas, all has been good. Santa brought a bunch of toys, and way too many for her to play with them all, but she tries. Goodness does she try. One of my favorite things we do at night when I get home from work, is circles. I hold her hands and we just run in circles around the ottoman/coffee table and every once in a while, “run into” the couch. When our chest bumps into the side of the couch, she just laughs and smiles. Especially when I kinda flip head over her and look at her upside-down. I guess you have to see it but it’s fun. She suckers me into to doing it all the time. I don’t know how she does it, but it happens.

Not too much else has been going on. I’ve been doing some cool networking tasks at the job. A lot more work with network security and configurations as well as building out a new system to watch our network and where bottlenecks may be occurring. I just finished drawing a basic map of all the network nodes I’ve mostly responsible for and it’s much bigger than I expected. You can click on the pic below and see a larger version.

Hope all is well with everyone. I’ll probably be putting up more pics tonight of some child of mine.
Take care.
